This track has been included in the Top 14 Great Short Walks by Department of Conservation (DOC) and Tourism New Zealand.
Rising proudly 420m above sea level, this distinctly shaped mountain, provides a breathtaking panoramic view of Whangarei Harbour and beyond.
As you climb towards the summit the gradient gets steeper winding up though beautiful native forest with glimpses of the ocean through the trees.
The climb is definitely worth the spectacular view from the natural rock lookouts - exercise caution as there are no safety barriers.
Time: Approx. 1 hour to summit – Allow 2 hours for return trip
